These clients wanted to create a comfortable and intimate environment to capture their eclectic collection of art, books and antiquities. The space has a minimal, transitional aesthetic that creates a subdued background to showcase the owner’s beautiful collections. Custom built bookcases offer dust protection for their special books and delicate objects. One primary goal for this project was to bring natural light into all areas of the space for the owners to enjoy for years to come. Certain design considerations were taken into account particularly in the bathroom to ensure ease of use for living in place comfortably. Grab bars that coordinate with the bathroom fixtures were incorporated, along with an adjustable hand-held shower wand and teak bench situated on the adjacent wall.
